The aromas are brooding, with notes of red fruit, cherry, and spice, with the fruit showing a touch of dryness. The palate brings plump, full-bodied red fruit and cranberry flavors along with a textured feel. An exceptionally long finish caps it off. 13.8% alcohol. This is all Block 13 fruit. It was whole berry fermented and aged 18 months in French oak (40% new). The aromas bring notes of raspberry, red currant, cranberry, and cherry, all very red fruit focused. Beyond that are notes of flower and herb. The palate boasts soft, sumptuous fruit flavors. 2023 Fortitude Bordeaux Style Blend, Columbia Valley, 91 Points, Critic’s Choice

This is a blend of Merlot (45%), Cabernet Sauvignon (27%), Petit Verdot (18%), and Malbec. It was aged 18 months in American and French oak (27% and 18% new, respectively). The aromas lead with notes of red plum, berry, and raspberry, all very fruit forward. The palate delivers on that promise, with medium-plus bodied cranberry and red fruit flavors.
